A day at the farm
Yesterday Chloe and I went to Fairfield City Farm with Mum, Vienna, Adalia and Max. Chloe loved the animals (surprise, surprise) and unfortunately for them she can't read so there was no safe place.I am amazed at how children can be so comfortable around animals that tower over them (that is except the King boys).
They have the most placid Jersey cow for people to milk and I was surprise that Chloe did not want to get up close and have a go as she is desperate to get Nick's cows to come to her for a pat and pretends to drink out of her toy cows udder. Adalia made up for her cousin not wanting a turn and kept getting Vienna to take her back for another go saying, "I need to get more milk."
As soon as the animals in the nursery saw the little white bags of food they swarmed whoever was holding it. Adalia loved to feed them whereas Chloe just wanted to touch them all. Adalia got attached to one kid and was lounging all over it so then Chloe decided that she wanted a turn to.
While Max liked the animals I think he was more interested in the digger in the play area, collecting large seed pods to make boats and answering the questions directed to the 5 and 6 year old kindergarten children that were on an excursion (he is 11).

Eden thought it was funny that we did the city slicker thing and go to a farm when we live in the country with animals everywhere but it was a great day where the children go a chance to get up close and personal to some very tame animals ( and Max got to be a big kid while 'waging' school).

Oh yeah - my boys are definitely not animal lovers like Chloe, but Harri is getting 'better' and now whenever he sees a dog he goes 'that's a nice dog', but still won't get very close.
I had a laugh too that you now live on a farm, but went to visit one while in NSW. Adalia has grown so much - she is a cutie!
