A Gravel Munching Stair Climber

This afternoon while daddy was working on the house Chloe and I went out to spend some time with him. I dressed Chloe in her old daggies because I knew that she would get grubby, and get grubby she did.
First of all she had fun getting the pebbles out from under the deck stairs and then trying to eat them. I think I need to get her hearing checked because every time I would say, "No Bubba, don't put the rocks in your mouth" she would look at me smile, and then put the rocks in her mouth! This does not really surprise me, she has been a gravel muncher from way back. (We have an old open fireplace, and no matter how many times I clean it out bits of concrete and soot still fall down. Anyway this used to be Chloe's favorite place to play because she could munch on the gravel. I had to put a child safety gate up to stop her getting in - I'm not a fun mummy!)
Stretching to get the rocks

Chloe's treasures

After Chloe was tired of working hard to get her rocks only to have me take them away she started to climb the steps. Considering we don't have stairs in our house and I have only taken her out twice to play on the deck stairs, she is very good at climbing them. The first time I realised that she could climb stairs was about two weeks ago when we were playing near the deck and she proceeded to climb the stairs without hesitation.

Today she climbed the stairs and then decided she wanted to get down again. She tried to go down forwards but as the step height is as long as her arms she did not have much luck. She then figured out how to go down backwards. After that it was up the stairs, down the stairs, up the stairs, down...I'm sure you get the point.

What a clever Bubba!

Getting some fresh air

Chloe after her play.
(This photo is suppose to be down the bottom and I can't move it so it will just have to stay)

Chloe is just like her dad, she prefers the outdoors to the indoors. Even when she was younger and could not sit up or crawl she loved being outside. If we have one of the doors open she puts her head down and power crawls (when she does this you know that she means business) straight for the door only to crack it Triffitt style when we shut her in.

Our yard is not really child friendly so I try to take her to a park or my sister's place at least once a week. Unfortunately for the last week the weather has been cold and drizzly, definitely not outside weather for a crawling buba. Today however the weather was beautiful so we decided to take her to the park for a crawl and a play. There is this really good park just around the corner from where we live. It has lots of things for the littlies to do and the ground is soft fall as opposed to bark which ends up straight in the mouth.

Chloe had a great time crawling to all the different activities and just being free!

Chloe on the spinny thing.

She was standing up on it but started to get a bit dizzy so we thought sitting was a better option.

On the hippo bouncer with mummy.

(Daddy loves the little piggy-tails)
Loving being in the outdoors.
"The world looks so different from way up here"

Seeing the world from the ground is not always that fun and when mummy is carrying her it is not that much better. When daddy picks her up it is a whole new world.

We Are Family

Last night we had my sister Scarlett, her husband Jony, my other sister Vienna, her husband Ricki and their daughter Adalia over for dinner. This is a regular occurrence with us getting together at someones house almost every weekend. It is always fun to catch up, have a laugh and just hang out. Lately it has been Adalia's little toddler antics (she is 20mths old) that has been providing us with the laughs and last night as no exception. She has just started to 'smile' for the camera on demand. Do you think that she has a career as a model?
Adalia's smile (well kind of)!
Chloe playing on Uncle Jony's shoulders with Uncle Ricki and Adalia
"Can I have a go on Uncle Ricki's shoulders?"
Chloe likes all of Adalia's big girl foods like her lollipop...
and sippy cup with soy milk (yum)!

Chloe's New Shirt

Today I made Chloe a new shirt (or decorated a new shirt, I'm not clever enough to make the shirt myself).
Iron on studs - $4.99,

Shirt - $8.99,

Getting Chloe to sit still for a photo....

..totally frustrating,

Chloe having her own unique shirt - PRICELESS!

For everything else there is daddy!

(I don't think I will ever make it as a children's wear photographer)

Rain, pyjamas and chocolate porridge.

Today is one of those rainy days where it is nice to just sit inside and do cozy things...lucky it is a Sunday otherwise Eden would be pacing the hall complaining about not being able to work outside.

Eden does not own trackie pants (he doesn't really feel the cold or want to wear them) and when we got home from church I suggested that he put his PJ pants on and have a cozy house day. He had reservations about it so I told him I would wear mine and we would make a family thing of it. So we have spent the day in our flanny PJs enjoying being inside and playing with Chloe. I'm not sure how Eden felt when he put the bin out and was met by our neighbour who wanted to have a chat all the while in his PJs at 4:30 in the afternoon.

As for the chocolate porridge, who can resist a warm, creamy, chocolaty treat on a rainy cool night?

Building a Fence

Eden has been very for the last few weeks building up and painting the brickwork our front fence. Today he worked very hard at putting in the pickets and building the gates, I don't think that he stopped to eat.

Eden hard at work

(the sawdust in his hair makes it look like his tip are frosted, how metro sexual)

When I got home from running my earns I was on painting duties. I wish that I was able to paint the pickets with the roller before they went up as it is so tedious with a brush. It took me two hours to do two panels and there are four plus gates (and that is just the first coat). Eden asked me if I was sure that we wanted pickets in Tassie (which will have a much longer fence). As tempting as not having to paint all these pickets would be I think that they are more aesthetically pleasing then metal. Next time we will just have to be more organised and paint them before we put them up.

If only I knew what I was getting myself into

A glimpse of what it will look like

Look how much painting we still have to do

Playing Dress Ups

The other day Chloe and I were playing dress ups with the dress that she was blessed in. The dress was originally my mother's christening dress, then my party dress on my first birthday and then a blessing dress for my brother Max, my niece Adalia and finally Chloe. I wanted to see if it still fit and and fit beautifully.

I hope that it will still fit on her first birthday so that we can recreate history.
Me, on my first birthday in the dress.

Awww!

Awww, isn't she cute!
Awww! That is Chloe's new and favorite sound. Eden just loves it and is always saying it to her so that she will say it back. As she is always saying it she says it at the most appropriate times like when she bumps her head or gives us a cuddle...it is so cute. Speaking of cute this is how Chloe used to laugh (in the last week she has started real laughing, even if it is a bit forced). With a scrunched up nose and squinty eyes it is cute on a baby but not a grown up, I checked in the mirror!

Play Date

Yesterday Chloe had a play date with her cousins, Katie and Adalia, at the local play centre.

Chloe loved playing in the ball pits, walking behind all the push carts and just being with her cousins.

Thank you Katie and Adalia for being such great friends to Chloe xx

First Post

Well here is our first post on our new blog. I have been having trouble getting a picture onto the header, but I will worry about that later, I thought I would just get something on here.

Lets see how I go at posting a photo (it is an old one as I can't find my cable for the camera). Wish me luck!
