A Little Lachie Love
- or Lach Star as Miss Chloe likes to call him.
He sure knows how to melt my heart, no wonder he has me completely wrapped around his little finger!

for "unnies and snickers."
The first morning she would take me to the toilet with the request, "Read me a book." I would tell her that we could read on the couch but I think she liked the novelty of it.
It has also led to a lot (and I mean a lot) of this...
(In case you can't tell Chloe has her shoes on the wrong feet and her pants on backwards, there is always something backwards). Chloe insists on dressing herself numerous times throughout the day; her draws are a shamble.
On Friday we went on another impromptu camping trip to the east coast with Levi, Louise and their boys. After numerous phone calls trying to decide where we were going to stay we decided on Bicheno. After tea on the first night we went down to the beach to see the penguins however we only saw one so I think we were in the wrong spot.
I spy with my little eye...how many sleeping children?
After our fishing trip our camping buddies packed up to go 4 Wheeler riding at St Helens while we hung out in the tent and then went to the beach.

I don't know if we were just unlucky and there at the wrong time but the beaches at Bicheno smelt. I kept saying how stinky they were and then I heard Chloe say that she wanted to go to the "Stinky Beach."
We made it down and were greeted by a friendly little wallaby that kept trying to take Chloe's lunch. It also attracted alot of tourists that all hovered to try and get a photo. We kept trying to move out of the way as people were taking photos (who knows how many people have us sitting in the background of their photos all red and flustered eating our lunch, very attractive :).
We stayed at the beach for a while (I was putting off the hike up the hill as long as possible :). While we were there we were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins swimming in the bay, how lucky are we?!
We finally packed up and started our walk back. I did take some photos on the way back but they are all pretty poor or blurry as I was shaking (I told you I was seriously unfit) and just too tired. I'm sure the track back got longer while we were at the beach but we finally made it back to the car, yeah! I had never been so happy to have to sit in the car for a few hours while we drove home (until Lachie started crying).
The next morning we all went out for a fish. Chloe is her Daddies little girl, she loves being in the boat and fishing. The first few times that Eden took Chloe fishing she dangled his rod dangerously close over the edge so we bought her a cheap fluro orange Kmart rod.
The fish at Bidport must like fluro orange because we caught most of the fish on it. Here is Chloe reeling in her first ever fish (a nice sized flathead). We must have been in the right spot at the right time because the fish were biting. In the photo below Eden is a watching his rod as a fish has taken a bite.
After a little bit of fishing the rocking of the boat was too much for Chloe and she joined Lachlan for a little nap.
After lunch we let Chloe have a play at the beach while we tried to stretch Lachie out so he would sleep on the way home (he cried all the way to Bridport). Chloe went rock climbing and would probably be still scaling rock walls if I hadn't encouraged (bribed) her come down.
Chloe loves the beach and has a fascination with rolling around in the sand until she is covered in it. Lachie hasn't yet discovered the joy of sand rolling yet but he still loves eating it.
Tiring the kids out worked with both of them sleeping most of the way home. This meant that rather then being stuck in the back seat singing ABCD and the Wheels of the Bus countless times and trying without success to calm an upset baby I was able sit in the front (like a grown up) and have adult conversation and do a little knitting (in preparation for my second Tassie winter).
Today while Chloe was playing with her play dough she came up to me with a heart and said that it was for best friends. While I don't think that she intended to make a heart when she saw what it was she knew what it meant. I don't remember ever explicitly teaching her that hearts mean love and caring. I am always amazed at how children 'pick things up' without us trying.
